Audun Engelstad is born in 1969. Associate professor at Lillehammer University College, head of the Norsk medieforskerlag (2008-2010). His PhD dissertation was entitled Losing Streak Stories: Mapping Norwegian Film Noir (University of Oslo, 2006). He is also the author of Fortelling i film og tv-serier: analyse av dramaturgi og visuell analyse (2004) (Storytelling in Film and TV Series: Narrative and Visual Analysis) and he has contributed to various anthologies and journals on matters relating to his primary research interests: genre studies, in particular film noir and melodrama, adaptation, and storytelling in film and television series.
